“In times of change, learners inherit the earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.”

The only constant is change; sometimes slowly, sometimes suddenly. In the short-run, the fittest (ablest) or the fattest (wealthy) are best likely to survive; however, over time, as per Darwin, those most able to adapt to changing environments or to recognize their environment is changing and move elsewhere are the most likely to survive.

The learned are often socially esteemed and believe in the paradigm they know well, making them fail to shift as the paradigm shifts. The learners embrace the ever-changing nature of the now and try to make the most of it.

The learned know the it but not the is. The static but not the everchanging.
