At birth, babies cry as they transition from being one with the Everything to being a finite being in a challenging world.

Upon their natural death, many are relieved to transition to again be one with the Everything.

Curiously, people are joyous and when a baby is born and saddened when someone dies.  Perhaps misery loves company.
