"There is a time for departure even when there's no certain place to go." Sometimes better the devil you don't know than the devil you know....

We are a piano with a finite set of keys with which we can score an infinite number of musical compositions. The compositions express our emotions. Love is when music connects us to the soul of the universe....

Each of us plays several roles in "Terrific," the play of life; some difficult, some easy. Difficult roles include having mental and physical health issues, poverty, dangerous situations, etc.; roles that require taking ourselves and our situations seriously. Easy roles are happy, simple lives. Difficult roles can win an Academy Award; easy roles not. However, given the chances of winning an Academy Award, best to forgo that chance and go with the easy roles. We are born into certain circumstances and with certain potentials. Then our lives evolve through chances and choices. We choose our roles; if not, we are given by society the roles that are vacant that no one would sensibly want. Best to be proactive and make choices that comport best with our strengths, weaknesses and allow us to realize our potential. Otherwise we are likely find ourselves in difficult roles, a difficult life....

The etymology of the word bullshit (misleading nonsense) seems as messy as bullshit. Unlike what's indicated in etymology sources, bullshit likely stems from hunting trips in the western United States in the 19th century. Hunters trailed their game by following a trail of feces; examining temperature, moistness, texture and design of  feces to determine how recently passed and which animals they were tracking. What appeared as a warm pile of bison shit might make their game seem near, until they realized it was shit from the bull from a nearby farm. That is, the bison shit was not what it appeared to be; it was bullshit. Likewise, hunters going around in circles would soon come upon their own horses' feces; horseshit, also meaning nonsense. While clever, academic etymologists might view the foregoing etymology of bullshit as bullshit....

"There is no such thing as a dumb question." Answers may be stupid but questions are not unless they should have been asked before we embarked on an endeavor....

There are 10 times as many stars than all the grains of sand on Earth's deserts and beaches. A few hundred stars have been given proper names and thousands have a formal identity. Yet, not one grain of sand has been named or give a formal identity. A grain of sand is rarer than a star, yet surprisingly less noticeable. Maybe that's because we look up to the stars and look down on the sand; or there's not much at night beyond stars at which to gaze, while during daytime there is much engaging our attention; or we are attracted to the shiny, not to the dull; or the mysteries of faraway stars stir our imagination but grains of sand are grains of sand....
